About Me
Danielle Bowen
My love affair with succulents and cacti began as an experiment. I seemed to have a black thumb with most plants, and word on the street was that succulents are hard to kill, don’t require water and can handle the heat of a Texas summer. And so it began.
Several years ago, I began to research different species, care strategies and planting/propagation techniques. I continuously experiment with different amounts of water and light until I find the right balance for each plant. When a succulent/cactus is thriving, it blooms beautiful, unique flowers- which I consider a delightful reward.
I did in fact, and still do sometimes, manage to kill some on my succulent journey. (Side note- they DO in fact need water!) However, I found a passion I would have never known I had. It evolved into my new happy place. I continue to be fascinated by the variety of colors, textures and symmetry in these plants. My soul is happiest when I am covered in dirt, creating an arrangement or tending to my plants.
